Faculty and Teaching Endowment
Columbia's Core in the Arts and Sciences
The small size of Core classes, the rapid growth of enrollments in select majors, the need for broad curricular coverage, and the fierce competition for the most talented faculty among top universities make the pressure on faculty budgets particularly intense. Strengthening the faculty, and the budget supporting them, is critical to Columbia’s future.
Matching Gifts for Endowed Chairs
Matching gifts provide extra incentive to alumni and friends considering a gift of an endowed chair. A matching gift can be a 1:1 match funding half of the $3 million required to establish professorships in the Arts and Sciences departments, home to the faculty who teach undergraduates. (Contact us to learn more about matching gift options.)
A successful campaign will fund more faculty teaching undergraduates and strengthen both the Core Curriculum and course offerings in the majors. The result for students: more curricular options and closer connection with top faculty.
