The Columbia Campaign for Engineering

At Stake Is Leadership

With the help of alumni, parents, and friends, The Columbia Campaign for Engineering aims to raise at least $100 million in new gifts to bring the best engineering and applied science students and faculty to Morningside Heights and another $25 million to enhance centers and research programs.

“The Campaign calls on us to invest in Engineering students and the faculty who teach them and lead research forward. Through their hands and minds we can touch the future.” —President Lee C. Bollinger

The Columbia Campaign as a whole is dedicated to lifting up the entire University for generations to come, so that Columbia continues to grow as one of the world’s most influential universities.

Providing Financial Aid

Financial aid programs help The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science to attract an outstanding, diverse community of students from all over the world. At present, 54 percent of SEAS undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid; the average financial aid package is $32,212. To meet this growing need, SEAS aims to raise $30 million for undergraduate scholarships. Another $20 million is needed for graduate support, for a total financial aid goal of $50 million.

Supporting Faculty Excellence

Recruiting the best faculty is essential for Columbia to maintain its global position as a leader in engineering and applied science. The $50 million goal will be focused on strengthening faculty excellence with endowed professorships, visitor scholars funds and faculty research dollars.

Strengthening Research Centers and Facilities

Private funding provides fertile soil to encourage new areas for interdisciplinary thinking and collaboration. By naming laboratories, upgrading classrooms, or creating endowments for research centers, today’s donors can help to develop tomorrow's solutions.
