The Power of Pledges
Did you know that by committing to making a series of donations, even over a period of several years, you can be recognized as if you had given the combined total all at once? A pledge to donate $5,000 annually for five years, for example, will be recognized as a gift of $25,000. Such a commitment can allow you to select a gift you might not be able to fulfill otherwise. So if you’ve made or thought about making multiple gifts over a given period of time, consider making a commitment to a regular annual donation that will be recognized at a higher level.
By combining yearly gifts into a multi-year pledge, donors have a greater impact on Columbia and the future of the University, its faculty, and its students.
Imagine turning…
$1,000 into $5,000 by pledging $1,000 each year for five years—and you could sponsor a world-renowned architecture lecture series that exposes students to cutting-edge ideas in design.
$5,000 into $25,000 by pledging $5,000 each year for five years—and you could sponsor a Cooperman Challenge Scholarship at the Business School.
$10,000 into $50,000 by pledging $10,000 each year for five years—and you could endow a scholarship at the School of Social Work.
