More than 30 nursing students gain international clinical experience through the Global Fellows Fund, a 2016 crowdfunding effort at the School of Nursing. Nearly 60 donors raised almost $25,000 to help cover Fellows’ airfare and living expenses.

“When I spent the last six weeks of nursing school in Jamaica, I felt as though my journey had come full circle. For the first time in 10 years, I found myself in a foreign country learning from nurses essential to patient care,” said Global Fellow and doctoral candidate Meghan Murray '16NRS. “Columbia stands out from other schools because it promotes nursing nationally and globally.”

With the Global Fellows Fund, students travel to nine countries, from Ethiopia to Mexico.
