Ransford Professor of English and Comparative Literature and African-American Studies; Robert O’Meally, Zora Neale Hurston Professor of English and Comparative Literature and the Director of the Center for Jazz Studies; and Kellie Jones, Hans Hofmann Professor of Modern Art; hosted by Wanda Holland Greene ’89CC, ’91TC, University Trustee. Through their collective discussion, they provided historical context for understanding the role of the arts in addressing periods of chaos and catastrophe and shed light on the current moment, particularly the devastation of COVID-19 and the emergence of a new period of protest and activism. The discussion was moderated by Matthew Harris, Founding Partner of Global Infrastructure Partners and Chair of Columbia University's Center on Global Energy Policy Advisory Board, and featured Jason Bordoff, Founding Director of Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy and Professor of Professional Practice at the School of International and Public Affairs, and Marianne Kah, Adjunct Senior Research Scholar and a member of the Advisory Board of Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy.
